1965 17" Sanger flat bottom, Mahogany and Walnut wood deck, 1966 Corvette 427 HPerf model (500 + HP) Hall Craft V-Drive, This is an old photo. The boat has just been fully restored and received a new paint job.  New photo pending. Bought this turn - key boat for $3500 from an 90 year old man who lives in the Nevada desert. It was a steal! Never raced. Served the old man's sons' family as a ski boat for 32 years. I got lucky finding this boat at this price.

Editors Note: Why can't we all be so lucky?

21'-6" Fresno Day cruiser.  Blown 468 chevy, Casale w/ 29% gears, perfect
all around get up and go fast cruiser.

18' Di marco, First boat ever. Bought in original gel coat that was still in
perfect condition, but couldn't stand that 70's yellow and maroon for long.
So all things must change, as did the interior, motor. Sold this for the
cruiser above, but I'm ready to get back in a flatty. Something about the
instant speed and exhilaration. The next when will be faster yet. HMMM,
maybe start putting the alcohol in the tank!!!

V-DRIVE BOATS from nostalgic to present, from day cruiser to drag hydros, you got to love them.
I usually run at camp far west, or new hogan reservoir that is when the law is not around!

The boat shown here is my 1974 Nordic v-bottom v-drive. I purchased it in
extremely rough condition when I was 16 and spent a year restoring it with my
father (including  putting the bare hull on a giant hand-fabbed bbq spit,
spinning it over and blueprinting the bottom). Power comes from a balanced
and blueprinted 468 with a steel crank, forged H-beam rods, JE 10.8:1
pistons, 990 casting bowtie heads, and a full roller valvetrain. It made 585
horses on the dyno. A manual valve body reverse shift pattern TH400 tranny
transfers the power to a split case casale box with 15% overdrive, turning an
11 1/2 x 14 two blade stainless menkins prop. It goes around 75 or 80 mph,
and has been featured in Hot Boat magazine as Hoat Boat of the Month.

V-drive with 22:1 gears, 11 1/2 x 15 stainless prop. Boat and most of the
parts to finish it were bought off the internet. Boat runs mostly on the
Kanawha river in Charleston WV.

The boat is an 18' ,  1985 Sanger Ski Hydro, and currently runs a 477 inch
BBC.  The vdrive is a Casale with a whirlaway, and has 22% gears
installed.  The prop is a 16 pitch steel Menkens cleaver, and the boat runs
well into triple digits.  I need more gear in the Casale, as I can easily
bump the 7000 rpm rev limiter.  The engine has Milodon gear drive, Crane
solid lifter cam, a Weiand tunnel ram and twin Holley 600's.  I am
currently looking for an old mechanical fuel injection intake manifold and
stacks that can be converted to EFI.  I run the boat on Lake Hartwell in
Anderson, SC, and am planning a cross country trip next year to one of the
v-drive regattas on the river in Havasu.

1971 Sanger 17' 10" Flatbottom

I'm running a 454 .030 over, with an ISKY cam, ported oval port heads with ss
valves, Edelbrock torquer-2 intake manifold and a 800cfm Holley carb.

It has a Casale V-drive 12% overdriven, with an 11 1/2" 14 two blade prop.

The boat is painted with corvette torch red, and summit white.(both GM colors)
